Bank Manager from Padubidri succumbs to H1N1

Udupi: Lakshminarayan P Salian (43), the Branch Manager of Mulki branch of Bharat Bank has succumbed to H1N1 infection. Salian who was suffering from high fever passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Salian was suffering from fever since the past 10 days. He had served the bank for the past 16 years. Before serving in the Mulki branch of the Bank he was working in the Mangaluru and Udupi Branches. Salian was also the Vice President of Hejamady Billawa Samaja Seva Sangha.

Udupi District has so far registered four H1N1 cases and two deaths due to the infection, informed Dr Rohini, District Health Officer. Meanwhile, five H1N1 cases have been reported at Suratkal, Kotekar, Soorikumeru and Puttur in DK District.
