Puttur: In a tragic incident, Harish Poojary (30) from Palambe, who was employed in a branch of a nationalized bank, hanged himself inside the kitchen of his house by using a sari.

Along with being a banker, Poojary also ran a family business titled Hosamma Home Products at Madavu Pallathadka. Harish had tea with his mother on Tuesday morning. Thereafter, his mother had left to work in a nearby house.

Harish had told his mother that he would also be leaving for work shortly The fact that he hanged himself inside the house instead of going to his workplace came to the knowledge of others after Harish's aunt living in the neighbourhood visited his home to borrow rice.

Seeing that the door had been bolted from inside, she peeped from the window and found that Harish's body was hanging from a sari. She immediately contacted the youth's mother, who rushed home and released the body from the noose with help from neighbours.
