“Bibliophile: The Buzz About Books”

St Agnes College Library in association with Lit - Wit and Western Dramatics Forum of the college organized “Bibliophile: The buzz about books” on 13th January 2022 in College Library.

 

The students - Ayisha L (III B.COM), Nashiya (I B.A.), Thanisha ( I BCA), Suzaina (II B.A.), Anaam (I BCA), Rashmi(I B.COM ACCA), Sathwika Shetty (II BSC), Aufa (I BCA) and Raaniya(I B.SC.) presented a book review of various books namely –‘Origin by Dan Brown’, ‘The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller’, ‘Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo’,’ We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche’, ‘Mary Queen of Scots by Antonia Fraser’, ‘The Girl Who Knew Too Much by Vikrant Khanna. ‘, ‘Three Thousand Stitches by Sudha Murty, ‘Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho’, and ‘Misery By Stephen King.

‘There is no greater wealth than knowledge gained from the books’ said Mrs. Geethanjali Prabhu, HOD of English. In her concluding remarks, she has analyzed the book reviews and appreciated the effort taken by the presenters. She also motivated the students to read beyond their textbooks to enhance their knowledge.

Ayisha L, the Secretary of the Forum welcomed the gathering. Dr.Vishala B.K., Librarian briefed the audience about the programme, invited the students to become active readers and visit the library regularly. All the presenters were given a book as a token of appreciation for their participation. Ms. Amora, the Library Committee member, staff and students were present for the programme.
