Bike rider killed after tanker rams into bike

Udupi: In a tragic accident, a biker died on the spot after speeding tanker rammed into bike on National highway 66, near Katpady on Wednesday night. The deceased is identified as Guruprasad(26) son of Thomu Poojari , resident of Katpady.

The tanker was on its way to Mangaluru from Udupi and it knocked down Guruprasad’s bike. He was garvely injured breathed his last on the spot. The tanker driver managed to flee. Kaup police have registered the case.

Police are in search of the driver. There has been increase in accidents at national highway. It is high time authorities clamp down on speed of drivers.
