Billava community condemns Praveen Poojary murder

Udupi: A meeting was held at Narayana Guru hall in the leadership of Billava community to condemn the death of Kenjur Praveen Poojary. Speaking on the occasion, district in charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj said the so called cow protectors should not harass people in the name of cow. He asked the cow supporters to adopt old cows and looking after them instead of attacking people.

Billava community leader and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake asked the cow protectors not to play politics with the name of cow. He assured that he will appeal to government to give justice to Praveen Poojary.

A resolution was passed in the meeting demanding compensation from the government. A collection was made from the gathered people and Rs 1,69,000 was collected including Rs 50,500 personal contribution from MLA Gopala Poojary. The collected amount was handed over to the family of Praveen Poojary.
