Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza celebrates golden jubilee of priesthood

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Catholic Diocese is one of the leading Dioceses among the various Dioceses in the nation, said Bishop. Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. He was speaking after a Thanksgiving Mass held at the Rosario Cathedral on December 3, Saturday in connection with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of his priesthood.

He also recalled the day he was ordained as Priest on the occasion of the feast of St Francis Xavier on December 3, 1966.

He thanked the Almighty for giving him the opportunity to celebrate his 75th birthday, golden jubilee of priesthood and decennial of holding the post of Bishop, this year. He even recalled his memories with Bishop Late Basil S D’Souza who had ordained him as priest 50 years ago.

Msgr. Dennis Moraes Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangaluru Diocese, Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi, Fr Henry Sequeira, Chancellor of Mangaluru Diocese, Fr Joseph Martis, Rector of Jeppu St. Joseph Seminary, Fr J B Crasta, Parish Priest of Rosario Cathedral and many others participated in the Mass.

Dr Dennis Moraes Prabhu read out the Pope’s letter extending his wishes to the Bishop.
