Mangaluru: The Youth Red Cross, AIDS Awareness Education Cell and the NSS Units of St Agnes College (Autonomous), organized a day-long blood donation camp on Wednesday, August 30 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the college auditorium in collaboration with Fr Muller Medical College, Mangaluru and United Friends Club, Bejai, Mangaluru.
Sr Dr Maria Roopa, joint secretary of the college inaugurated the programme. Principal Sr Dr M Jeswina presided over the programme and declared the camp open. Dr Kirana Pailoor, blood bank in-charge, Fr Muller Medical College explained the importance of blood donation. Students from other colleges, parents and well-wishers attended this programme and donated blood. Around 103 pints of blood collected.
Nirmal D’Souza, president and Prof Leslie Gomes, convenor of blood donation camp of United Friends Club, Bejai, programme co-ordinators of the NSS units of the college, Dr Udaya Kumar B and Anitha S and co-ordinator of Youth Red Cross Prajwal Rao H were present on the dais.
Sneha Pai, the secretary of Youth Red Cross and AIDS Awareness Education Cell, compered the programme. Student president Mrunali J P welcomed the gathering. NSS Secretary, Akanksha Jadhav delivered the vote of thanks.
