Mangaluru: Campus Front of India (CFI) staged a protest outside DC office on June 21, Tuesday against chanting mantras and performing Surya Namaskara while doing Yogasana during Yoga Day.
Addressing the protestors, District Chief Secretary of CFI Mohammed Imran said, "Union Government Circular making it mandatory to observe Yoga day in every educational institution is nothing but the Hindutva agenda of Sangha Parivaar and RSS to saffronise and communalise educational institutions. CBSE and UGC institutions have made Yogasana compulsory with controversial mantras in it. There was a hidden agenda to saffronise the whole nation behind this Yoga Day programme."
CFI has also demanded that there should be no chanting of mantras and performing surya namaskara while doing Yogasana.
