Mangaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Congress government aims at defeating communal forces and providing good administration. Chief Minister exuded confidence that the party will win the next Assembly elections. Taking a jibe at the BJP, he said the party which had said that the Centre too would waive farm loans if the state waived loans, has now fallen silent.

The BJP which finds no issue to fight the elections, has raked up the communal issue by creating disturbances. They should realise that their agenda would not work here as Karnataka is not Uttar Pradesh.

KPCC Chief G Parameshwar in his address, said that the recent opposition exposed the mindset of some people who opposed the Iftar organised by Pejawar seer for no reason. There is a need to sensitize people on the dangers posed by such forces, he added.

DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, Udupi in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader, District Congress President Harish Kumar , party MLAs and MLCs were present. On behalf of farmers, the CM was felicitated for waiving farm loans.
