Mangaluru: CPI(M) and DYFI activists protested against the poor state of a road at Jeppinamogaru on Wednesday by planting saplings on the road. They have also demanded concretisation of the road.

Addressing the protestors, CPI(M) district unit Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said the road was last bituminised in 1996, following repeated pressure mounted by the party. Since then, except patch works nothing has been done. Even the local BJP corporator is apathetic to the problem, he alleged.

CPI(M) leader J Balakrishna Shetty, DYFI District Secretary Santosh Bajal, party leaders Chandrahas G, Jayanthi B Shetty and others were present.
