Campaign against the illegal narcotics drug addiction to hold on 6th October

Udupi: No one questioned the severity of the drug addicts problem and its devastating impact on specially youth and destroy health and young lives. In order to get the best solution to reach young people with effective fact based education, Campus Front of India, Karnataka State Committee is organizing campaign against ‘drug the killer’ drug addiction all over Karnataka state. Campus Front of India, Udupi district organizes awareness programme started with rally from Clock Tower, Udupi service bus station at 3 p.m. on Thursday, 6th October, 2016 and to culminate at Sri Narayanguru Sabha Bhavan with the inauguration of the campaign, said Mohammed Tafshir, State Secretary of Campus Front of India.

While addressing the media persons at Udupi Press Club on Wednesday, 5th October, he said that India is the largest human resources country and meanwhile largest youth resources in the country. Youth should participate for the development of the country. But in India even though huge youth resources of human existed, the health of the youth should be more important. In India and Karnataka state the rate of suicides cases of youth marginally increased and every year the suicides cases increases due to drug addicts.

Narcotics Control Board of Bangaluru said that the narcotics drugs addiction among the college students and other youths increased drastically. As per the latest research, around 30% students indulged in illegal drug addiction.

He said that the goal of the campaign is to mobilize support and inspire youngsters to act against illegal drug addiction. The campaign comes as an initiative against violations of human rights and inequality especially in the area of health, education, employment, safety and interaction.

During the campaign street plays, seminars, brochure distribution and mini movies, campus meet, public programmes and awareness jatha will be conducted.

During the press meet, Mohammed Shafiq, District President of Campus Front of India Udupi district, Aboobaker Siddique, District Vice President of CFI, Avez district committee member CFI, Udupi district and others were present.
