Mangaluru: Far too many times in life, we are faced with decisions about where to go or what to do, and sometimes we feel like we really do not have a clue on the path to go. We put on our thinking cap as early as our college days and the first crossroad of life that we come across is choosing the right career. So, how do we decide this? Career Utsav 2015 started this initiative to provide clarity to all those who had this question bothering them. A survey conducted by them revealed that more than 70 to 75% of the students are confused on what career they have to choose and are clueless of what to do next after II PUC.

Career Utsav 2015, South India’s biggest career and education event concluded at TMA Pai Convention Hall here, on December 20.

The programme which was inaugurated by Educationalist Dr. Mohan Alva yesterday, received an overwhelming response. II PUC students from more than 150 PU colleges in Mangaluru, Udupi, Bramhavar, Kateel, Bantwal, Moodbidri, Dharmasthala, Ujire and from all over Dakshina Kannada attended and utilised the benefit of this programme.

Students received first hand information on career ready degree courses available in fast growing verticals. Free Mock KCET and Mock CPT for science and commerce students were conducted to give them a first hand experience on facing these competitive exams. Free Psychometric tests were conducted which helped in assessment of personalities of students, hence providing them a clarity on what courses suits their interests.

The fair witnessed the presence of Top 12 Universities of Karnataka and more than 40+ institutions showcasing their Undergraduate courses for 12th standard students under one roof.

This exhibition also hosted an arena of workshops and conferences on various career options. 12 different detailed workshops/seminars on Engineering, Law, Healthcare, CA, Fashion Design, Film and Media, to name a few, were conducted.

“It is the perfect platform for students to get to know more about different career options available after 12th Std. We got a lot of assistance to make a right choice which suits best for our children and made us so much burden free of what education to choose after our children complete +2,” opined a parent.

The two day career festival concluded on a positive note of giving hope to thousands of students and with a promise of getting even better, latest and trendy opportunities in their next version.

Pradeep Naik, CEO of Fuel Media Solutions, who organized the event said, “This exhibition has showcased various educational developments and career options that are available and has also assisted students and their parents to take decisions to frame their career paths with utmost care. We thank Mangaluru for making this a grand success yet again this year.”
