Carpenter slips from under-construction tin sheet roof; dies

Udupi: In a tragic incident a carpenter slipped down from an under-construction tin sheet roof and suffered grievous injuries at Katapadion Saturday, October 15. He died at a hospital later in the day.

The victim was Rama Acharya, a carpenter by profession and trustee of Goddess Kalikamba temple, Katapadi. He was involved in the repair of the tin sheet roof of the temple office located in the outer precincts of the temple, when he lost his balance, fell, and suffered severe injuries to his head.

Acharya was immediately taken to a private hospital in the city for treatment. However, he died a little while later, without responding to treatment..
