Casting of vote is fundamental duty of every citizen: Prof P L Dharma

Mangaluru: An electoral awareness programme was conducted by Youth Red Cross Unit and Electoral Literacy Club, DrP.Dayananda Pai P Satisha Pai Government First Grade College, Carstreet in association with SVEEP D K District, Mangalore University Alumni Association and Association of Mangala Gangotri Commerce Association (AMCA).

The chief guest and speaker of the event was Prof P L Dharma, chairman, department of political Science, Mangalore University who addressed the audience on the importance of casting vote and inspired the students in this regard. He also told that casting vote is the fundamental duty of every individual who is above 18 years of age.

The event was also honoured by the presence of Madhusudhan Bhat, lawyer, who addressed the students on the importance of EPIC Cards. Chandrahas K also was part of the event.

Principal of the College and president of AMCA, Prof RajashekharHebbar C. presided the ceremony and briefed the students on the importance of Election. Dr Mahesh K B, programme officer, Youth Red Cross and Prof Hanumesh, Nodal Officer, Electoral Literacy Club, GFGC Mangaluru, also graced the event. About 120 students participated the event.
