Child dies after falling from 7th floor balcony in Jeppu

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a one-and-half-year old toddler fell to his death from the seventh floor of an apartment, in Marnamikatte on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 5pm, when Mohammed Shan was sitting in a chair in the balcony and playing while his mother was busy inside the house.

The child accidentally child climbed the balcony grills and toppled, police suspect. The child’s father is abroad.

The grandparents too were at home at the time of the incident. A case of unnatural death record (UDR) has been registered at Mangaluru South Police Station.
