College student arrested for duping people

Mangaluru: A college student from Mangaluru was arrested by Barke police for duping over Rs 50 lakh from other students. The arrested is iVinod(22), from Sangli in Maharastra. He was pursuing his studies in Mangaluru. He is residing along with his family in an apartment in Dongerikery.

Sunil Shetty, Third year BCom student of his College had lent Rs 3 lakh to Vinod on May 19. He had promised him to pay the lumpsum within a week, as a proof he had given three cheques . But as days passed Vinod failed to pay but gave excuses.

Sunil grew suspicious and informed the police about the matter. Investigation revealed the fact that he had duped over Rs 50 lakh to many students in his College. He was produced before the court and remanded judicial custody. Investigations are in progress.
