Commencement Day celebrated at Little Rock

Published On : 16 Feb 2020   |  Reported By : canaranews network

Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar celebrated Commencement Day on Saturday, 15th February in the Dr. C.T. Abraham Memorial Auditorium.

Commencement Day marks the culmination of the Class X and XII for some 350 students of this year. This happens to be one of the most sublime and solemn functions in the Little Rock calendar of events, attended by the outgoing students with their parents.

Dr. Ganesh Kumar K. Ammannaya, renowned Cardio-thoracic Surgeon at Lokmanya Tilak Medical College Sion, Mumbai and an alumnus of Little Rock was the Commencement Speaker.

Dr. Ganesh Kumar delivered an electrifying speech recalling his own student days at Little Rock for 12 long years and how he benefitted from his formative schooling days. He said, “With Almighty’s blessings I have had the good fortune to speak on several platforms, national and international, but I can tell you none, as special as this one! This is truly a high point in my career, a high point in my life.”

“Commencement Day is the INFLECTION POINT of your life. What you become over the next few years, decades and entire life now lies completely in your hands. Spoon-feeding is now out of the window, you are on your own now! It’s now, only you, your attitude and how you manage yourself that is going to matter. Nothing else.

The whole impetus of my speech is to transform you into active glory seekers going forward from this point on. My address to you is directed at providing you a thrust towards becoming Glory Seekers, for I believe it is the active glory seekers who can bring out the best in themselves and also get the best out of life. Whatever field it may be, the principle is the same.

Let me summarize my entire talk into 10 Commandments.

“The 10 COMMANDMENTS OF A GLORY SEEKER”, which I think are most crucial, irreplaceable and absolute are;

1. HARD WORK – EVERY MAN’S A GENIUS

2: CRAVE FOR SUCCESS

3: BUILDING POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT CYCLES

4: NEVER REST ON PAST LAURELS – MAKE WINNING A HABIT

5: COMPETING WITH SELF. SEEK NOTHING BUT, PURE EXCELLENCE, WITHOUT COMPROMISE ON ETHICS.

6: DREAM, DREAM, DREAM. EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A DREAM

7: INNOVATE – BE CREATIVE – DON’T JUST IMITATE

8: ORGANISE YOURSELF – GOOD PLANNING MATTERS

9: GRATITUDE AND HUMILITY

10: NEVER NEGLECT YOUR HEALTH

Director of Little Rock Prof. Mathew C. Ninan presided over the programme and gave his best wishes to the students.

Dr. Roy Philip, Managing Trustee of Priority One India and Deputy Director Mrs Lali Abraham gave away the Commencement Awards. Dr. John Thomas welcomed the gathering. Vice Principals Mrs Julie Esther Lewis and Mr. Harikrisha D were also present. AditI Praveen Acharya of Class XII paid a tribute to the School on behalf of the students.

Anirudh Rao of Class XII administered the Pledge and Prithvi R delivered the Vote of Thanks.
