Commencement day at Little Rock

Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar conducted its first-ever Commencement Day on Saturday, 16th Feb.

356 students of Class X and XII who have successfully completed their course of study, with their parents and grand parents attended the grand ceremony marked by solemnity and scholarly ambience.

Prof. Dr. Valson Thampu, former Principal of the renowned St. Stephen's College, New Delhi was the Commencement Speaker. Dr Thampu complimented Little Rock for becoming an outstanding institution, with a wonderful infrastructure and the parents and public for cooperating in this noble endeavour.

Dr. Valson made a very powerful motivational appeal to the outgoing students to lead a unique creative life of their choice without going after stereotypes. "We should not degrade our lives by aping someone else. You are a unique person. It would be an insult to your own self-esteem if you try to live like someone else." He wished them great success in their life.

Dr. John Thomas, Principal welcomed. Ms Marine Jacob compered. Mr George Behanan, Counsellor from Thiruvananthapuram was the Guest of Honour. Mr HariKrishna D, Academic Coordinator presented the Merit Awardees.

Prof. Mathew C. NInan, Director challenged the students to be honest in their life, and not be swayed by the negative influences of the social media. He asked them to lead lives worthy of the alumni of Little Rock. Vice Principal Ms Lali Abraham Mathew read out The Commencement Charge. Vasudeva Kini paid a rich tribute to Little Rock on behalf of the outgoing batches. Vrishti Mallya administered the pledge and Insha Ahmed proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Trustees, School Managing CommIttee members, invited guests and some AICS Principals attended the programme held in the Dr. C.T.Abraham Memorial Auditorium.
