Brahmavar: Prof.M.Sreepada, Principal of SMS College, Brahmavar inaugurated the newly elected Students Council of Crossland College, Brahmavar. The newly elected members took oath which was led by the Director of Student's Council Mr. Naveen Kumar. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest. The election process was democratic and the leaders for the year 2018-19 are Mr.Sandeepa, Chairman, Mr.Rajesh, Secretary and Ms.Sowmya Mardi, Joint Secretary.
They took charge by contributing to the’ Indian One Rupee project’, a medical fund to help the needy, where all students contribute one rupee every week. Crossland family started its community service of the new acdemic year by contributing Rs 12,000 to a small child undergoing leukemia treatment. The college is rated the 78th Best arts college by India Today and the success is shared by all the stake holders.
Prof. Sreepada gave an inspirational speech which encouraged the new leaders and all the others. Prof Sreepada said about the seven magnificent principles to success. He encouraged the gathering to make use of the opportunities. The Principal was proud to welcome the Chief Guest and the gathering. He made good remarks on the achievements of the college. He also delivered a message which encouraged the students to put trust on the leaders.
"Mahatma Gandhi had no money but had the courage to take the entire nation towards freedom" this was stated by the Principal which challenged the leaders to move ahead. The atmosphere was mesmerized by the singing of the students.Mr.Girish Rao and Mr.Pradeep, Lecturers of Commerce were felicitated for clearing the Karnataka State Eligibility Test. Towards the end the Secretary proposed the vote of thanks to the gathering.
