Brahmavar: The India Today ranks Brahmavar based Crossland college 78th among the best 100 arts colleges in the country.

The ranking was announced in the India Today dated June 4, 2018.Previously perceptual and factual scores got equal weightage. Over the years, India Today felt the first stage filtration of colleges based on perceptual score was unfair to emerging colleges, who may not score high in perception against traditional giants.

Therefore a new methodology was introduced this year. Nearly 1000 colleges participated this year compared to 259 last year. The performance indicators were clubbed into five broad parameters-Intake quality and governance, Academic excellence, Infrastructure and living experience, personality and leadership development and career progression and placement.

The college is offering History,Sociology,Rural development English,,Business management, Office management and secretarial practice as optional.

The college founded by an eminent educationist late Dr.C.T.Abraham in 1986 in Chanthar,a rural area has so far produced 31 ranks and eight gold medalists in the university examinations.

The excellent results and high progression to higher studies and campus placement are the hall marks of the college. Students from twelve states are pursuing their B.A and B.Com education in this small college with a difference. The college is keen on exposing its students to activities inculcating values in them like a handful of rice with love, where all students, staff and faculty bring a handful of rice and the rice collected is donated to Spandana.Another project started is the wall of charity, where all can keep unused but usable items and those who need can pick it without being watched by anyone.

The alumni chapters of Bangalore and Brahmavar have complimented the staff for this great achievement.Prof.Mathew C.Ninan, Managing Trustee of Priority educational foundation has congratulated the college on this splendid achievement” That is great! Keep it up. Hard work never goes unrewarded for too long”.
