Cultural Fest ‘Kalothsava’ held at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: On the occasion of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the College, Yaksha Kala Kendra, Student Council and Performing Arts Association of St Philomena College Puttur organized Inter Collegiate Cultural Fest ‘Kalothsava’ on January 30, 2018 in college auditorium.

The Correspondent of the College Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto inaugurated the Fest. The Senior Yakshagana Bhagavatha Shri Padyana Ganapathi Bhat participated as the chief guest. The Campus Director and Chairman of Centre for PG Studies Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as the guest of honour. The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha expressed his best wishes. The Secretary of Catholic Board of Education Very Rev. Fr Gerald D’Souza presided over the programme.

The members of Performing Arts Association performed the prayer. The Convener of Kalothsava Mr. Prashanth Rai welcomed the gathering. The Student Welfare Officer Mrs. Bharathi S Rai coordinated the programme. The Student Welfare Officer Dr Vijaya Kumara Moleyar proposed the vote of thanks. The Co-convener of Performing Arts Association Mrs. Rajeshwari M compered the programme.

The valedictory programme of Kalothsava was organized in the evening. The Alumnus of St Philomena College Shri Shashidhara Palangaya was the chief guest. The Campus Director and Chairman of Centre for PG Studies Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro and Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev Fr Vijay Lobo were the guests of honour. The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha presided over the programme.

The President of Student Council Mr. Nixon Joseph welcomed the gathering. The Co-convener of Performing Arts Association Mrs. Rajeshwari M presented the details of prize winners. The Convener of Kalothsava Mr. Prashanth Rai proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Shreema compered the programme.

This Inter Collegiate Cultural Competition ‘Kalothsava’ consisted of Bharatanatyam, Yakshagana, Folk Dance, Kannada Lyrics and Master of Ceremony. Among 14 colleges participated in this programme, Govindadasa College Surathkal bagged the overall championship. Vivekananda College Puttur secured the First Runner up Trophy and SDM College Ujire secured the Second Runner up trophy.
