DK and Udupi get voter turnout of 72.05% and 75.68 %

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district recorded a total voter turnout of 72.05% till 5.00 pm. The maximum voter turnout during this period was 79.07% in Bantwal while the minimum 64.93% was in Mangaluru South constituency. During this period, Mangaluru (Ullal) registered 71.51% polling. Puttur, Belthangady, Sullia and Mangaluru North registered 78.47%,78.00%,75.30% and 71.29% respectively.

voter turnout of 75.68 % was recorded in Udupi district at 5.00pm. The voter turnout at recorded in Udupi 75.59, Byndoor 75.66%, Kundapur 75.76%, kaup 76.08% and Karkala 75.03% just one hour before the close of polling.

A defective EVM at a polling booth at Januvarukatte near Brahmavar resulted in delay in voting by 2 hours. Presently, the faulty EVM has been rectified and voting is underway briskly.
