Mangaluru: Janatha Dal (Secular) supremo and former prime minister HD Devegowda said that JD(S) which does not have a strong presence in Mangaluru at present, should be made stronger by strengthening it from the grass root level.

Addressing media at Circuit house on October 15, Saturday Devegowda said, "Three teams have been formed to travel across the state to strengthen the party’s base. My primary goal is to develop Janatha Dal into a regional party that can fight the two major national parties."

"People have shown their support for JD(S) to stand in between two major parties. Even though our position in Mangaluru at present is not satisfactory, we are confident enough of getting good results in near future from this region," Gowda added.
