Dignity of Labour Emphasised during Anandathirtha Vidyalaya’s Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations

Anandathirtha Vidyalaya, Kunjarugiri, Udupi celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi in its campus on a grand note. Nagaraj Thallanje, Chief Warden of Anandathirtha Hostels inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the lamp. Chief Administrator Gurudatt Somayaji addressed the gathering and said that India secured its independence through non-violence which inspired many other great world leaders like Nelson Mandela. He added that Mahatma Ganghiji proved to the world that freedom could be won without using any weapons and causing any violence.

Principal Geetha S Kotian led the students’ community in ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’ and recitation of Bhajans. The hostel students sang songs of patriotism and read out the importance of the day.

After the stage programme, the students and the staff took part in cleaning the premises of the school. Scouts and Guides trainer Rajvardhan proposed a vote of thanks.
