Kundapura, September 14: The District level throw ball tournament for boys and girls conducted by Pre-University Educational Department, Udupi was inaugurated by R.B. Nayak -The Deputy Director of the Pre-University Education Department, Udupi at Holy Rosary church stadium, Kundapur by lighting the lamp.
Rev. Fr. Praveen Amrith Martis-The principal of the St.Mary’s composite Pre-university college welcomed all. The Deputy Physical director of the college Shridhar Shetty gave the introductory speech.
R.B.Nayak, the inaugurator of the tourny, in his speech said-“This type of tourny should be conducted in several places from lower level to upper level. The St.Mary’s composite Pre-university college has organized such type of tournament. This institution is not only ahead in sports, but also got reputation by achieving 100% result this year.
The convener of the St.Mary’s composite Pre-university college, the parish priest of the Kundapur church, Rev.Fr. Anil D’souza, was the president of the programme, and he conveyed the wishes to the athletes and remembered the persons who extended their co-operation to organize this tourny.
The Municipality members-Vijaya Poojary, Fr. Prakash Paul Lobo. asst. parish pries Rajesh, Kaveri, The Vice Principal-Manjula Nayar, The Managing Committee Vice President Johnson Almeida and others were present at the dais.
Lecturer Reshma Fernandis-conducted the programme. Lecturer Sharmila proposed the vote of thanks.
In the girl’s section-Kundapur Taluk Champion, St.Mary’s composite Pre-university college, Kundapur team. In the boy’s section- Kundapur Taluk Champion, Kundapur Government Pre-University college team and Karkala, Udupi North and south zone boys and girls team participated in the tournament.
At the end, Karkala Taluk won the First place in the girl’s section, Udupi-North zone got the second place. In the Boy’s section Udupi-North zone won the first place and Kundapur Taluk-Government Pre-University college won the second place.
