Dr Manoj Varma takes over as president of IDA DK

Mangaluru: Dr Manoj Varma, principal of Srinivas Dental College here took over the reins as president from Dr Shishir Shetty of the oldest branch in India. Dr Shivsharan Shetty was chosen as president elect.

In his presidential address, he congragulated the DK branch for winning the best president, best secretary and best branch for overall activities at the recently held 44th KSDC in Hubli. He emphasized the need to educate the public through public health awareness progrmames, promote dental tourism partnering with the government of Karnataka and also conducting CDE programmes for the benefit of the practitioners.

Dr K Nillan Shetty honorary secretary read out the annual report of 2016.

Dr Surendra Shetty pro-vice chancellor of Manipal University, Dr N Sridhar Shetty former president of DCI, Dr Sripathi Rao, dean of Yenepoya Dental College, Dr Moksha Nayak dean of KVG Dental College Sullia, Dr Y Bharath Shetty dean of A J Institute of Dental Sciences and around 200 IDA members attended the AGM.

Dr Shishir Shetty welcomed the gathering and Dr K Nillan Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
