Dr.Arunachalam Kumar loses fight with cancer

Mangaluru: Dr Arunachalam Kumar, MS, Professor of Anatomy, former Dean of KSHEMA passed away. He was 69 years. He was suffering from lung cancer since few years.

He was a fabulous teacher, a mentor for many, a research worker, a writer and a genius to put it briefly. He was a rationalist and crusader taking on all and sundry irrationalists. He was one of the founder members of the Dakshina Kannada Rationalist Association called as the South Kanara Rationalist Association when it was founded in 1976.

He studied in Kasturba Medical College, later served the institution as Professor of Anatomy. He resigned from KMC and joined the Nitte University where he worked as a professor of anatomy and later became the Dean. He joined the Kanachur Medical College as a Vice Chancellor.
