Driver arrested for vandalizing Statue of St.Anthony

Udupi: In regard to the vandalizing the Statue of St.Anthony at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva Police arrested one person. The arrested person is Benedict D’souza aged about 57 years and is said to be a native of Udupi. He is a driver by profession.

He was drunk and as his prayers were not answered by St. Anthony, he wanted to change the statue’s location to other place while the statue fell down.

His wife and daughter stay in abroad. A case has been registered.
