EDU-PATH Lecture Series: Career planning in Medicine

Mangaluru: As part of the ongoing career guidance programme ‘Edu-PATH Lecture Series 2018’, Dr G G Laxman Prabhu, professor of Urology, at KMC Hospital Mangaluru conducted a session on ‘Planning a Career in Medicine’ for II PUC medical aspirants of Expert Pre University College, Valachil, here.

He said that one needs to plan specifically exploring one’s area of interest and skills to get into the field of medicine and plan a career. This field offers a broad spectrum of opportunities. He added that it is a service driven career with noble ethics which can place an individual as a doctor next to God because it is a profession to save lives. Dr Prabhu emphasized the necessity of hard work to be a medical practitioner and the need to be a student life long as confronting diseases and saving lives poses new challenges everyday.

At the end of the session the enthusiastic students interacted with the guest speaker Dr Prabhu with umpteen questions.

The vice principal Raghavendra Shenoy honoured Dr G G Laxman Prabhu with a memento. Fatima Hibah welcomed the gathering formally and anchored the programme. Abhishek Patil proposed the words of gratitude.
