Engineering student brutally ragged and assaulted by seniors

Mangaluru: A first year Engineering student of Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru has been brutally ragged and assaulted by senior students on August 23, 2016.

The victim has been identified as Vysagh, 18 years, a first year computer science student in Srinivas Institute of Technology hailing from Koilandy, near Kozhikode, Kerala. He has suffered injuries on shoulders, back and one side of the neck.

The culprits are said to be Anand and Jesin, second year students of the same college. They have taken Vysagh to their rooms ragged him severely, beat him brutally. Later, he was dragged out of the room and assaulted him on the road. Public gathered seeing the torture and saved him.

Vysagh was later admitted in a hospital. Mangalore Rural police have registered a case and the investigation is on.
