FIR filed against Pramod Madhwaraj for violation of code of conduct

Udupi: Electoral officials have registered a first information report (FIR) against minister, Pramod Madhwaraj, citing violation of code of conduct.

The officials believe that the minister is guilty of the above offence as he had issued statement promising government employment and Rs 25 lac in cash by the state government to weight lifter, Gururaj Poojary, for having won silver medal at Commonwealth Games.

Minster had said that Poojary would be eligible for job and cash reward in terms of the sports policy recently adopted by the state government. The opposition alleged that by givibg this statement, Madhwaraj was trying to garner votes.
