Mangalore, Sep 11: The family feast celebration in Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi began with the Eucharistic celebration on Sunday September 11.
The Eucharistic mass was celebrated by Mangalore diocesan vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu along with Fr. Manoj Braganza, Fr. Adolf, Fr. Melwyn D’cunha, Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta & Asst. Priest Fr. Ivan D’souza.
The cultural programme began with a stage programme at 10.30am. in the Community Hall. Vicar General Fr. Denis Moras, Corporator Keshav, South MLA J.R. Lobo were the chief guests on this occasion. Fr. Melwyn D’cunha, Fr. Shabas Crasta, Fr. Ivan D’souza, Vice President Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas, Secretary Irene Pinto were also on the dias.
In the beginning Vice President Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering. Soon after that Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta felicitated Vicar General Fr. Denis Moras with a shawl and fruits. Addressing the gathering Vicar General Fr.Denis Moras said, "A parish means one family and all the parishioners are the members of the family and it is our duty to take care of every member of the family." Later South MLA J.R.Lobo also was felicitated by Fr.Shabas Crasta. In his speech he also invited the men and youth take active part in all the activities. Few rib-tickling Jokes and puppet show was performed by parish youth. 10 Wards parishioners entertained everyone with a beautiful Konkani mando, dance as well as well as a unique fashion show. Asst. Preist Fr. Ivan D’souza delivered the vote of Thanks. Later, sweet vorn flavored with the blessed new corn was blessed by Vicar General Fr. Denis Moras. Secretary Mrs. Irene Pinto compered the Programme. At the end, all were served with the traditional vegetarian meal with variety of vegetables and alu-dento and vorn recollecting the sweet memories of Novem Jevan.
