Mangaluru: "Gratitude is the music of the heart and memory of the soul. Let us therefore this day play this music from our hearts and express our gratitude towards our parents, principal, teachers and all those who have helped us during the 12 years of our stay in dear Carmel School to grow in wisdom and knowledge through their constant guidance, love and care," with these sentiments in mind, the outgoing students of Class X of Carmel School assembled for a Thanksgiving (farewell) Mass offered by Fr Maxim Rosario recently. The liturgy was prepared by Class X and IX with appropriate readings and hymns
After the Mass, Class X students were welcomed by Class IX with a rose followed by a meaningful programme structured by the students. The occasion witnessed a short prayer service followed by a fun and frolic programme which consisted of music and dance and a wonderful farewell song. A skit was also presented to give the outgoing students a moral that they have to remain gratified in life. The highlight of the event was a video put together by the juniors, which was full of special reminiscences of their academic life. The students of Class X articulated their love and gratefulness to the school, teachers and friends through a special song and words of indebtedness.
Sr Sarika, the principal, wished the students good luck and asked them to continue practicing the values imbibed by them in their school life. She further said that though the teaching fraternity was sad to bid goodbye to the students they fostered for so many years, they were happy to have moulded them into poised individuals who could face the world’s challenges.
