Udupi: In a tragic incident, a fisherman died after falling into the storage section of the fishing boat. The deceased has been identified as Subbaiah, a worker of the fishing boat.

Subbaiah along with another worker, Shivaraj, was loading ice cubes into the storage space in the fishing boat. Subaiah accidentally slipped and fell into the storage. Shivaraj, who instantly tried to help Subbaiah, also slipped and fell down. Because of the stench of rotten fish inside the storage, both suffocated. They were found in an unconscious state by other workers of the boat after sometime.

Both were brought out and admitted into hospital. However, Subbaiah was found to have died before he could be extended medical help.
