On July 18, the accused had allegedly attacked a person named Gangadhar at Kuthar, with a soda bottle and tried to kill him. Fortunately, Gangadhar was able to escape from his assailants.

The accused had plotted to murder two youths of the other community as revenge for the murder of Pilar resident Safwan in April this year. They had zeroed-in on two persons of Kuthar and Amblamogaru as their targets. But timely action by the police thwarted their plans.

The arrest operation was conducted with the help of Ullal police. The accused are in the custody of Ullal police for further investigation.
