Mangaluru: Srikar Prabhu, former state executive member of BJP, who was ousted for six years from the party for his alleged anti-party activities in 2014 has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Mangaluru South Constituency for the upcoming assembly elections.
“I will contest the elections as Prime Minister Modi’s follower, but without the party symbol. Though the poll symbol might be different I will approach people who believe in RSS-BJP ideology,” he said,
Being an ex-BJP insider and a strong RSS supporter, he may be well versed with BJP’s inner functioning and secrets which can put a dent on BJP’s vote share in the upcoming elections. BJP is yet to finalize a candidate for the Mangaluru South Constituency, while Congress is most probably going to field MLA J.R. Lobo, who is the present MLA.
It is said Congress has a big role in this as they want to divide BJP votes.
