Mangaluru: Former MLA Krishna J Palemar slammed the ruling Congress government for taking credit of development works which he initiated during his tenure.

Palemar said, "The much awaited Malavoor dam is set to be inauguratedn and the district administration has planned a grand function. I am hurt by the fact that they have not invited me to the programme. Forget about inviting, they do not have the courtesy of even informing nor printing my name on the invite."

"Malavoor vented dam is my brainchild and I had requested for Rs 3 core for the project. The then government led by B S Yeddyurappa sanctioned another Rs 18 crore for the project. The present Congress government is taking credit for the previous government's work. I strongly condemn this," he added.

Speaking on water scarcity in the city, he alleged, "Mangaluru City Corporation has not made proper arrangements to distribute water in the city. We can see people waiting for water in every corner of the city. In some areas, MCC is supplying drainage water too. They are not testing the purity of drinking water."
