Foundation stone laid for Apostolic Carmel home for needy at Paldane

Mangaluru: The foundation stone for the Apostolic Carmel home for senior citizens, needy and poor, was laid at Mother Teresa Ward, St Teresa Church, Paldane, on Monday, July 24.

Marking 150 years of its foundation at Bayonne, France, the AC sisters of the Karnataka province planned to build a home for the old and needy on the land gifted by Gladys Monteiro who honoured the wishes of her late husband Victor Benjamin Monteiro.

The foundation stone was blessed by Fr Walter D’Mello, judical vicar of Mangaluru Diocese and laid by Gladys Monteiro and her Son Glen Monteiro.
Roshan Lasrado, vice president of St Teresa Church Paldane, E Fernandes, director, Fourwinds Mass Communication Services, and others were present for the ceremony.
