‘Freshers’ Day’ celebrated at St Philomena College Men’s Hostel

Puttur: ‘Freshers Day’ was celebrated by the residents of Men’s Hostel in St Philomena College Puttur on July 20, 2019. The Parish Priest of St Antony Church Bannur Rev. Fr Prashanth Fernandes was the chief guest. After inaugurating the Freshers Day programme, he delivered his inaugural address. He said, ‘Hostel life is precious. It helps to know each other. It also helps to develop personality.’

The Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo participated as the guest of honour. He said, ‘This hostel has completed six decades of its fruitful existence. Over the years, it has produced many great leaders. Hostel experience provides scope for the development of one’s career.’

The Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro delivered presidential address. He said, ‘Experience will make us better. Hostel life provides opportunity to have something which is very concrete. Hostel inmates must adopt the principle of give and take. So that, there can be peaceful atmosphere and overall development.’

On this occasion, Logo of the Hostel Diamond Jubilee Celebrations was released. In connection with Diamond Jubilee celebrations, three projects, viz, campus cleaning, forestation and reunion of the hostel alumni was announced. The newly elected President of the Students’ Council Mr. Nithish H R was felicitated.

Mr. Sharman Rodrigues and group presented the prayer song. The warden Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. The President of hostel Mr. Shashanka proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Alex compered the programme.
