Girl robbed in hostel room

Mangaluru: In a shameful incident, a miscreant forced himself into a room in a women's hostel of a private college. The girl student was asleep inside a room of the women's hostel run by a prestigious educational institution when someone knocked at her door at around 4 am. She thought it must be some hostel staff and opened the door.

The miscreant rushed into the room and threatened the girl student. When she tried to raise an alarm, he forcibly closed her mouth with his hand and attacked her with an iron rod. He snatched away her purse and took away Rs 3,000 in cash. He forcibly took away her ATM card, obtained PIN of the card by threatening her and went away.

On the basis of complaint filed by the girl student, Ullal police have registered a case and begun investigation by checking CCTV footage.
