Honnavar: Two young men tried to stab a girl student Kavya Shekar, when she was on her way to the school on Thursday. Though Kavya succeeded in escaping from the men, she has sustained stab injuries on both of her hands.

She has been admitted to Honnavar government hospital for treatment. Prohibitory orders are in force in Honnavar for the next 24 hours. A case stands registered in Honnavar police station and the investigation is in progress.

Honnavar has seen tensed moments after the murder of Paresh Mestha recently. After days of unrest demanding justice in various parts of Uttara Kannada district, the state government handed over the murder probe to CBI on Wednesday.
