Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike postpones protest

Mangaluru:The protest planned by the Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike in front of B C Road Taluk Office on June 24, Saturday to condemn the Kalladka incidents, has been postponed. a

Addressing reporters on Friday, Vedike leader Harish Poonja said, "The protest has been postponed in view of the extension of prohibitory orders under Section 144 till June 27 with a view to ensure law and order and also to co-operate with the administration in its endeavour to establish peace."

He said the Vedike had planned the protest to condemn the rising atrocities on the Hindu community. At the same time, Poonja alleged that the DK District in-charge Minister was not making any concerted efforts to promote harmony in the district.
