HoD of Sociology of St Philomena College Prof. John B. Sequeira attains Superannuation

Puttur: The HoD of Sociology, St Philomena College Puttur Prof. John B Sequeira attained superannuation on June 30, 2021 after 35 years of service. He began his teaching career at St Philomena college in 1986. He also worked at Sacred Heart College Madanthyar from 2001 to 2004.

Prof. J B Sequeira, had his early education at St Joseph’ Higher Primary School Meramajalu and Nithya Sahaya Matha High School Arkula. Thereafter, he joined St Aloysius College Mangalore for his PU and Degree studies. He obtained his Master’s degree in Sociology from Mangalore University.

He served as a member of Board of Studies and Chairman of Board of Examinations of Mangalore University. He was also NSS Programme Officer, Secretary of the Staff Association, Director of the Students’ Council, Humanities Association and HRD Cell. He conducted a number of training programmes on Effective Communication, Life Skills and Calligraphy. A large number of students have benefited by participating in these training programmes.

Prof. Sequeira is also serving as the editor of ‘Putturchem Neketr’, a Konkani Monthly published by Don Bosco club Puttur.
