Hore Kanike procession held in preparation for Infant Jesus feast

Moodbidri: A Hore Kanike procession was held here on Friday, January 13, ahead of the feast of Infant Jesus Shrine, at Holy Rosary Church, Alangar. The feast of Infant Jesus was held on January 15.

Prayers in preparation for the feast of Infant Jesus were also held on the ocassion. Fr Franklin D’Souza of Shimoga diocese led the prayer and prayed for the sick, donors and the well-wishers.

The streets of Alangar witnessed a procession of offerings where the devotees offered gifts to Infant Jesus. These gifts will be used on Sunday for the festive meal as well as the meals on every Friday of the year during the afternoon novenas. Fr Paul Sequeira, the dean of Moodbidri deanery accepted the gifts from the devotees in the presence of parish priests Basil Vas and Kenneth Crasta. Fr Franklin concluded the day with the Eucharistic celebration exhorting the faithful to live and lead a life of forgiveness and love.
