Huge fire engulfs rubber and coconut plantations in Bantwal

Bantwal: A massive fire broke out in B Mooda, Kolnadu, Kavala Mudoor and Pilathabettu. It has engulfed vast tracts of rubber, coconut plantations and other trees spread over hundreds of acres of land on February 18.

The fire was noticed in the buses and shrubs near Goodinabali and Chikkayyana Mutt.
Fire tender vehicles from Puttur, Bantwal and Belthangady had rushed to the spot to put out the raging flames.

Fire was also noticed near Balakada Gudde and Kolnadu in the vicinity, However, the plantations were reduced to ashes by the time the fire tender vehicles had arrived.

Even the Bantwal and Punjalakatte police rushed to the spot to oversee the operations.
