ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese host “ P.S.T.A – 2019 ”

Indian Catholic Youth Movement (I.C.Y.M) Central Council, Mangalore Diocese hosted " P.S.T.A - 2019 " A training programme to the Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Amcho Yuvak Representatives of all Units and Deaneries of ICYM Mangalore Diocese on Sunday, June 30th 2019 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Centenary Memorial Hall, Jeppu, Mangalore.

Rev. Fr Antony George Pinto - Dean, St. Joseph Seminary, Jeppu was the Chief Guest for the programme along with Mr. Roshan Castelino - HR Manager, MRPL, Keynote Speaker for the programme. Yuva Spoorthi Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza - ICYM Diocesan Director, Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - Designated ICYM Diocesan Director, Jaison Leroy Pereira, Shirthady - Diocesan Youth President, Fevisha Monteiro - Diocesan General Secretary, ICYM Mangalore Diocese were the dignitaries for the programme.

Jaison Leroy Pereira welcomed the guests and gathering. Meanwhile, Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza florally welcomed Rev. Fr Antony George Pinto with a bouquet. The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Rev. Fr Antony George Pinto addressed the gathering on the importance of youth leaders in the community and their qualities. He briefed out about his life experience and his association with youths and also spoke about Laudato - Si Sunday and its importance. Rev. Fr Antony George Pinto was honoured with a memento as a token of gratitude. Fevisha Monteiro rendered the vote of thanks. Cleeta Dsouza, Surthakal - MIJARC Representative conducted the ice - breaker session.

Jaison Crasta, Mogarnad - Diocesan Nominated Member, ICYM Mangalore Diocese introduced Mr. Roshan Castelino to the gathering. Mr. Roshan Castelino in his keynote address spoke about History of ICYM, Tips on Leadership and how ICYM is a systematic and effective organisation when compared to other organizations in the church.

During the occasion, Mr. Rohan Pereira, Vamanjoor - Entrepreneur, Ro International, addressed the gathering about one to one programme introduced for the job seeking youths and the methodology to approach experts in various fields. At 12.30 pm the Holy Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza, co celebrated by Rev. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza.

In the post lunch session, Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza briefed out the duties and responsibilities of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Amcho Yuvak Representative and other posts of the committee.

Preema Pinto, Kirem - Lady Vice President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese introduced Mr. P. R GopalKrishna - Quality and technical manager at A. J Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru - second key note speaker of the programme, who spoke about voluntarily blood donation, how to approach hospital blood banks during emergency requirements, method of blood transfusion.

Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza briefed out the important announcements pertaining to 72nd Annual General Body Meeting and its elections. Meanwhile, names of the awardees of ICYM Mangalore Awards - 2019 and the names of the best top 10 units of the diocese were announced. The programme concluded with ICYM Anthem. The youths of the diocese had a wonderful training session for the day.
