ICYM Karnataka Region in collaboration with ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese organises “THRILLS”

Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Karnataka Region in collaboration with ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese organised “THRILLS” (Training in Human Relations, Innovative Leadership and Life Skills) on 9th and 10th of February 2019 at the Mangalore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Bajjodi.

The day began with the Holy Eucharistic celebration at 7 in the morning by Yuvaspoorthi Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza – Director, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese followed by a short breakfast. A short inaugural program was held at 9:15 am. Rev. Fr Lurdh - Representative of Chairman of the Karnataka Region Youth Commission, Yuvaspoorthi Rev.Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza – Director, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese, Sr. Jessy Rita - Regional Youth Lady Animator, Jai Joseph – President, ICYM Karnataka Region and the members of Regional ICYM Executive Committee were the dignitaries of the program. Jaison Leroy Pereira – President, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese welcomed the gathering .The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Sr. Jessy Rita gave an inspirational message to the youths gathered. Fevisha Monteiro - General Secretary, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the inaugural program.

After the short inaugural program, Cleeta Dsouza - MIJARC Representative conducted an icebreaking session among the youth to freshen up and know each other. Jai Joseph conducted a group discussion on the topic Relevance of Media and Leadership – How media can make a leader or break a leader, wherein Oniel Andrade – Spokesperson, ICYM Karnataka Region shared his opinions and expressed his ideas along with the other youths. Yuvaspoorthi Rev.Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza conducted a technical session on Time Management. A short meeting was held between the Regional, Diocesan Executive and Council members. Jai Joseph explained the motives and objectives of ICYM Karnataka Region in detail and asked suggestions for the betterment of the region and the youths. Thereafter, refreshments were served to all. Sr. Jessy Rita - Regional Youth Lady Animator gave a brief idea about the programs conducted in the regional level and requested for the support from ICYM Mangalore Diocese. On this auspicious occasion, Fr Lurdhs’ birthday was celebrated by cutting the birthday cake. Fevisha Monteiro - General Secretary, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the meeting by singing the ICYM Theme song. The gatherings were served with a sumptuous lunch. Cyril Prabhu – Former Regional Youth Coordinator was present for the programme. After the post lunch session, REXCO, DEXCO and the council members visited some of the famous places of Mangalore. Cleeta Dsouza hosted the entire program. Thus “THRILLS” helped to connect, enkindle ideas, expand the knowledge and acquire inspiration.
