ICYM Madanthyar unit organizes MPL – 2019

Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Madanthyar unit organized “Madanthyar Premier League” tournament on 26th and 27th January 2019 at Sacred Heart PU College Grounds. The tournament was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Basil Vas - Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Alwyn Dsouza - Assistant Parish Priest, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Madanthyar by playing cricket. The MPL tournament had 7 teams and 105 players. The franchise owners of 7 teams selected their team players through bidding. Teams like Vion Fighters, SM bulls, Genesis Arthila, Vinu Risers, Dark Thunders, Dubai Daredevils, Nuthan Warriors participated enthusiastically with a zeal.

The prizes were distributed on Sunday evening and Rev. Fr Basil Vas handed over the trophies to the winners and the runners up. Rev. Fr Lancy Lewis – Superior, Asha deepa, Vivian Fernandes – President, ICYM Belthangady Deanary were present during the occasion. Team Dubai Daredevils bagged the winner’s trophy and Team Genesis Arthila bagged the runners up trophy with a cash prizes. Suraj Dsouza - ICYM member compered the event. This tournament brought unity and brotherhood among the parishioners.
