Udupi: Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur near here conducted Annual Sports Meet 2014/15 on Friday, 30th October, 2014 at Milagres College grounds.

Prior to inauguration, Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Institutions, Glenn Dais Entrepreneur, Alumni and District Awarded Body Builder, Mr. Lokesh Mendon and Dr. Lakshmi Pai President of PTA witnessed and took guard of honor from the athletes with colorful flags. The students put their best foot forward in the march past event, which was really grand and well rehearsed.

Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo hoisted the school flag before the inauguration of the 2-day annual sports meet 2014/15. The torch was lit by state level sportsmen at the ground. The 2-day sports meet was inaugurated by freeing colorful balloons and declared open by Mr. Glenn Dais, Entrepreneur, Alumni and District Awarded Body Builder. Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’Souza Principal of Milagres English Schools gave introduction of the chief guest Glenn Dias.

Speaking in his address Mr. Dais said that academic excellence alone is not enough for an all round education but a healthy body and mind contribute highly for proper learning and complete education.
Mr. Glenn Dais was felicitated during the occasion by guests on the dais.

Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo presided the inaugural function and during his address said that the important thing in sports meet is not winning but taking part, which like academics is in the class room, sports ground too becomes a class room, where the essential thing is not really winning or conquering but competing well with real sportsman spirit. The participation in various events of the sports will then be encouraging the various talents of the participants.

Prior to the inauguration, invocation prayer song was sung by the students. Cynthia Sequiera and Eugene Rebello proposed vote of thanks while Mariet Rodrigues compered the function. Large number of parents and guests were present and participated during this grand inaugural occasion.
