'International Yoga Day' Celebrated at Anandathirtha Vidyalaya

Anandathirtha Vidyalaya, a value-based CBSE residential school at Pajaka near Udupi, celebrated International Yoga Day on a grand note in the school premises on June 21.

Tadasana, Trikonasana, Padahastasana, Kati Chakrasana, Vrikshasana, Shashakasana, Bhujangasana, Ushtrasana, Ardhahalasana, Pawanmuktasana, Kapal Bhati and Bhramari, Anulom Vilom and Shitali Pranayam, Parvatasana and Padmasana were some of the asanas performed by the students. The main attraction of the day was the performance of Suryanamaskar for which co-ordination of body and mind is very important. The school had also arranged for a talk highlighting the importance of Yoga in a student’s life. The main aim was to raise awareness and ignite passion for fitness and Yoga among the students.

President of the Managing Committee Mr Nagaraj Ballal inaugurated the programme. He said, “Yoga is essential for inner and physical growth. It enhances the mental and physical well-being." He also motivated the students to make Yoga an important part of their daily routine to stay fit and healthy. Yoga expert Mrs Roopa Ballal taught students the significance of yoga in daily life.

Student council leader Sathwik Salian, Durgesh Shetty, School coordinator Vijetha, Chandrakala, physical education director Santhosh Kumar Shetty, Sumana, Srishti were present on the occasion.
